My hometown in Pennsylvania goes for Obama
Bryn Athyn, PA. The borough in which I was raised. I can’t say I relate to many of the people in this Republican run Christian society. But today I’m proud to be from one of the many small towns in Pennsylvania that helped elect Barack Obama as our 44th President of these United States.
This email came from a family friend:
I just went up to the Bryn Athyn Borough Hall where the voting results are taped to the window of the front door. For the first time since perhaps FDR and WW2 the democrat presidential candidate received more votes (14 more to be precise) in the BA borough than the republican candidate. An historic vote for BA! As best I could tell from reading the machine printouts and the absentee ballot document, the results look like this:
Obama (D) - 349 (49.4%)
McCain (R) - 335 (47.5%)
Barr (Lib.) - 8 (1.1%)
Paul - 4 write-ins (.57%)
Nader (Consumer?) - 3 (.42%)
Clinton - 1 write-in (.15%)
Pedro (who’s that?) - 1 write-in (.15%)
Chose not to vote - 5 (.71%)
TOTAL TURNOUT - 706 (100%)
Sadly I was out of the country for the election, but was able to early vote here in San Francisco before leaving.

This is crazy… I didn’t think it would go that way. I guess it comes down to the fact that there are a lot of younger folks over 18 who voted. I haven’t lived in BA for 11 years so I can relate on the not relating. Nice to see some BA folks out in SF and in startups. cheers.
