The Art of Banana Bread

I’ve been keeping busy these days. Most of my time (for the past 2 years) has been spent working with the incredible people at Get Satisfaction, but by night I’ve been hiding in my apartment scheming…

Over the past few months I’ve been working on a project. Something fresh, something ripe. It’s Ripe and it’s ready for consumption.

itsripe.com is designed to help you discover new recipes based on the ingredients you have.

Here’s how it works:

  • Keep track of your ingredients in a virtual pantry.
  • Create grocery lists to help keep your pantry stocked.
  • Get recipe recommendations based on what you’ve added.
  • Add more ingredients to keep getting better recommendations.
  • You can add your favorite recipes or pick from recipes added by the community.

WE NEED BETA TESTERS! Sign up to find out what you can make.

Here’s a recipe my brother Lewis added a few weeks ago. (Any recipe can be embedded on your site like this)

I want to especially thank Scott Fleckenstein for all of his guidance and support. This wouldn’t exist if he hadn’t taken time out of his busy evenings to help educate and liberate me. I’m looking forward to asking him a million more questions.

I often make banana bread with honey.

Or better yet, if the bananas are nasty ripe, you can make it without any sweetener! I think it turns out a little heavy but it’s good to know if you don’t have any on hand.

One day I’ll add it as a recipe. The site looks awesome.
